Hello friends!<\/p>\n

Summer is in full swing at the Co-op. Our produce department is overflowing with local products and it\u2019s nice to see our summer community back shopping our aisles.<\/p>\n

We had so much fun kicking off summer with Lincoln County Unity and Community Pride Walk. The weather was perfect and we had the best turnout ever! Thanks to all who attended.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

It\u2019s\u00a0Plastic free July<\/a>! Plastic Free July\u00a0is, \u201ca shared global movement that helps millions of people reduce plastic waste through simple, everyday choices and be part of the solution to plastic pollution.\u201d That way, we can enjoy cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities.\u201d<\/p>\n

This week Rising Tide has launched a\u00a0Choose to Reuse\u00a0<\/strong>program in our caf\u00e9. Help us cut back on plastic waste by using our stainless-steel utensils. Use them here or take them to go. Bring them back and place them in the dish bin for us to wash and sanitize for reuse. It\u2019s that easy!<\/p>\n

We also want to take this opportunity to remind you that when you shop the co-op and bring your own coffee mug you will charged for a small coffee regardless of the size of your cup.<\/p>\n

Neighbors feeding neighbors! Thanks to everyone for rounding up those dollars at the register for Loving Local Meals (LLM) and remember we will always accept additional funds to help feed our neighbors in need. Starting next week, LLM will partner with\u00a0Healthy Lincoln County<\/a>\u00a0to provide local eggs for their share tables and local veggies for their Summer Meals Program. As a member-owner you have the option to round up at the register every time, without being asked. Talk to a front end team member or email me at\u202foutreach@risingtide.coop<\/a>\u202fto set this up. In 2025, our Round Up Program donated $19,602.80 to LLM.<\/p>\n

Shop for a cause! Every Wednesday Rising Tide donates .5% of our sales to a local non-profit voted on by our member-owners. In 2025, the Co-op donated a total of $7,945.04 to our Co-op for Community Day partners.\u202fOur June Co-op for Community Day (CCD) partner was\u00a0Caring for Kids<\/a>.\u00a0Rising Tide donated $672.49 to their cause.<\/p>\n

This month CCD\u2019s donation goes to Waldoboro Food Pantry. The\u00a0Waldoboro Food Pantry<\/a>\u00a0started in the 1970’s and serves the Lincoln County communities of Waldoboro, Bremen and Nobleboro. On the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, volunteers distribute packaged goods, eggs, milk, bread, fresh fruits and vegetables to 155 to 185 households.\u00a0 Volunteers also meet on the preceding Monday to prepare the food distribution.<\/p>\n

Thanks to all who contributed when our friends from\u00a0<\/span>Central<\/u><\/span>\u00a0Lincoln County YMCA<\/a>\u00a0brought their bus for a visit to collect pantry and body care donations. We look forward to their next visit in September.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the 1970\u2019s the\u00a0Waldoboro Food Pantry<\/a>\u00a0has existed to serve those in the greater Waldoboro area. Each food pantry day, volunteers distribute packaged goods, eggs, milk, bread, fresh fruits and vegetables to anywhere from 110 to over 150 households. The food pantry operates 100% on donations. Their donations come from individuals, businesses, towns, churches, and other community organizations.<\/p>\n
