As a cooperative, supporting our community is very important to us. It’s right there in the cooperative principles:

#7 Concern for Community   Co-operatives work for the sustainable development of their communities through policies approved by their members.

We support our local economy by providing a year-round outlet for hundreds of Maine farmers and producers. In 2014, Rising Tide purchased more than $1.1 million in goods from Maine-based suppliers.

We support local organizations by donating .5% percent of our Wednesday sales to elected groups through our Co-ops for Community Day program, and through Rising Tide Community Investment Fund grants.

We regularly donate to the Ecumenical Food Pantry, Lincoln County Animal Shelter, and many other local nonprofits. In 2014, we donated more than $19,000 in food and goods to community organizations.
